An encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in a residential area of Hanjan village in Bandipora district of north Kashmir today morning.
According to reports, two terrorists, who were holed up inside a residential area, have been killed. Two AK-47 rifles, with arms and ammunition have been recovered from the killed militants.
Even though the identity of the militants are yet to be ascertained, they are believed to be from Lashkar.
The security forces have cordoned off the village after a tip-off. As they were laying cordon around specific area some gun shots were fired by militants.
NEW CURRENCY NOTES FOUND FROM MILITANTS
New currency notes of Rs 2,000 have been recovered from the Lashkar militants killed in Bandipora.
The notes could have been sourced locally, said police. Investigations are underway.
